The only reason I ask is because the cooler does not come with the AM4 backplate needed, you need to contact Cooler Master and they send you one and it takes a few weeks. The legendary Hyper air cooler is back and better than before. Can I install the stand offs directly to the stock back plate? Or do I need to install the after market back plate that comes with the cooler?
The documentation and videos on-line are very conflicting for installation.ĭoes anyone have any experience installing this cooler onto this motherboard? The motherboard already comes with a metal back plate. I decided to purchase a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO to help bring down CPU temps. I have the MSI B450 Tomahawk installed with the Ryzen 3600 but getting CPU temps a lot higher than I would like.
